
Michal Baratz Koren is a photographer and visual artist based in Jaffa, Israel. Her work explores Israeli identity through memory, family history, and the social and political realities of contemporary life.
She holds a B.Des with honors from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem and pursued advanced photography studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Baratz Koren’s work has been exhibited in solo and group shows in Israel and internationally, including at Zemack Contemporary Art (Tel Aviv, Israel), 1335 Mabini (Manila, Philippines), and The New Ars Italica Gallery (Milan, Italy). She has received the Sandberg Award (2004) and the joint Israel-Italy Ministries of Foreign Affairs Scholarship for Excellence (2007). Her work has been published in Corriere della Sera, Haaretz, and Chaeg Magazine, among others. Her work is held in the collection of the Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation (ESKFF).
