Michal Baratz Koren (1978) is a photographer and visual artist based in Jaffa, Israel. Her work drawns from real-life stories, addressing the complex interplay of identities across themes of motherhood, art history, and socio-politics context. She holds a B.DES with honors from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem and continued to photography studies at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Baratz’s work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Israel and internationally, including at Zemack Contemporary Art (New York, San Francisco, and Tel Aviv), Corridor Contemporary (London and Miami), 1335 Mabini (Manila), and The New Ars Italica Gallery (Milan). She was awarded the Israeli and Italian Ministries of Foreign Affairs Scholarship for Excellence (2007) and the Sansberg Award (2004) for outstanding achievements in design. Her works are held in the Eileen S. Kaminsky Family Foundation and in private collections in Israel and abroad.
